...Fresh off the Blocking Board!

I was in a need of making a Christmas Themed bookmark for a swap on MaryJanesFarm Connection.
I searched for a lovely pattern online and found it here at Free Tatting Patterns, with the lovely red threads that I received recently... knew that this would be a perfect bookmark for that special Farmgirl!


I used J & P Coats Metallic Knit- Cro-Sheen... no idea what size it is!
I had fun and this was quick to do... two days for myself.

The picture does not show the sparkly metallic in the threads very well.. but it is pretty!

That's a really lovely pattern. I like the effect created by the different lengths of chain in the first round. I also like your color choices.

Love the bookmark and the colours that you used! Also in answer to your question about the pattern for the Hummingbirds I got the pattern from Heather A.K.A The Tarnished Tatter.

 I have few books for tatting instructions ...how to Celtic, how to needle, how to shuttle and numerous pages of patterns for tatting from online, doily this, edging that, motif those. ...To Chain or Not To Chain!

I have been tatting my heart out since the Palmetto Tatting Guild's Tat Days this past year. I have come a long ways since. I have researched on tattings and tried many patterns... I still am, to improve my abilities and develop "my style". My daughter has become an amazing tatter in jewelry with updated modern twist. She just amazes me to no end. As my confidence grew, my style is also growing. Maybe I should say preferences instead of style. I have learned that I do not "like" to create things without patterns. I am not "into" making things other than doilies and edgings but if needed to will do the other things. I also am not at all keen on tatting with the ball of thread, multiple shuttles, ends and sewing in ends... I like doing one shuttle, less stuff to fuss with.  Now with that said..
