...Dotee! Have You Seen or Heard?

Image
~ I visit MaryJanesFarm Farmgirl Connection often and check out many of the the forums. I peek in the "Farmgirl Barter" or the "Farmgirl Swap" and see if there is something that I might want for barter or even make to swap. For a quiet awhile now, I have seen "Dotee" for swaps but had ignored them mostly. ~ That is until recently! I could not ignore it any longer. I finally bit it when I saw a forum thread titled "Dotee Adoption". I should have ignored it like the rest but noooo, I had to be nosy.             Here is the first post in that thread: Here's how it works. I will offer up the first Dotee for adoption. If you want to give her a home, post that you will take her, and offer up the Dotee you made for adoption. You will then send your address to the person adopting the Dotee out. Please adopt the Dotee and  immediately  offer up your Dotee, so that the adoption process can continue, without delay. If you don't have one m...

...A Recent Quilt That I Made

Image
Past October, I was approached by an online friend, Debbie, about making a quilt for her granddaughter.  I said that I could do it so I asked few her some questions about color choices. Debbie desired a quilt that had a definite "girl" look to it. The Mom liked everything in beiges, browns and neutral colors and she disliked anything pink.  I worked with Debbie via emails and messages on Facebook. I spent some time searching for fat quarters of fabrics in various Etsy shops. I was staring at this piece of fabric. It had the elements that I was looking for, the browns and pinks.  I learned something through various design shows and art classes of my youth about colors. My Mom even played an important roll in my life with colors. She was an interior designer and I learned many things by watching her work her magic. With these lessons in life, I learned that when you want to bring colors that are pleasing to more than one person which in this case are the gr...

...Finally! My Dream Kitchen Curtains Completed!

Image
I had began this cute project over a year ago. I bartered with this one Farmgirl at  MJF Connection . She had piles and piles of these old hankies that needed a good home.  My home! I already had in mind how these lovelies were going to be used. So what does a gal like Karrieann do with some of these?  Well, I hand stitched them into a quaint curtain for my Kitchen door. That is what I did! I love how they look! (This shot is without the use of flash) What took so long to get these beauty up?  It took me this long to get the needed curtain rod! I live in this small town and only one store carried these rods. At times they didn't have the size that I wanted and I forget to get them at times! Last night these hankies were placed into their place of honor. This is the door that get used more than any other doors and will remind me daily of the generosity of people, people who have kind heart. Thank you Farmgirl "antoinette"! *  Revelation 3:...

Having fun with embroidering again... Tea Towels!

Image
I am a member on MaryJanesFarm's Connection. I have signed up to do a tea towel swap. I have enjoyed it so much that I have kept on doing more and more embroidering on the tea towels. Finally, I made one just for me. It seems that when I make things, I'd forget to do it for me too. Well, not this time! I made the lilac one for me. The lilacs hold many memories from my youth. At my Grandma's and my childhood home with my Mom and now my own! This one I made specially JUST for me! "It's Spring... Do you know where your bloomers are?" and "In the Spring, at the end of the day, You should smell like dirt." were made for the two Farmgirls in the swap! I had fun! * Proverbs 10:4    ~ Lazy hands make a man poor,      but diligent hands bring wealth.
