I took a class  on the "Half Ring Braid Bracelet" by Martha Ess during the Tat Days back in August. In her class I was working on the red thread and gold beads. With all the boo-boos in it, I decided  to start again. Well, the day before yesterday I began a new bracelet in Lizbeth 20 #657 :Ocean Turquoise DK (a gift among many from Joanie), and gunmetal colored beads from my stash. I am happy to say that I completed it! My hubby even noted that my tatting is getting better and it's fine piece of work.  "*BEAMS* with pride" I have beautiful light sea-foam green vintage beads that I have been itching to use for many years. I think they are beautiful and I need to patiently wait for the perfect color threads to use them with. ...back to the days in 1800s at   Travelers Rest Historic site  for the Pioneer Day in Stephens County, GA. The 1800s version of Bed & Breakfast! Cooking a meal Lady weaving on the loom Lady doing needle-work under the shade Young ladies playing at the well Old Time dancing ...then it was time to go back to the reality of the 21st Century and our four-legged kids who were at home waiting for our return. Abigail Mr. Peabody (formally known as Mr.P.) ...both kids were rewarded with special goodies for being good at home! How do we know that they were good in our absents? Today was an emotional day for me, a sad feelin' emotional day. What was the cause? Well at the stage of my life, it could be many things but I will say mainly it is who I am.  I have a strong sense of the gift Empathy. My day was really okay other than the fact that my herniated disk ruptured yesterday while doing yard work. I rested most of this day and crocheted an afghan that I am working on. I did not want to go to bed in this somberness. I needed to find a reason to smile. Smiles make me feel happy. I was finishing up with the washing of the dinner dishes, and I gazed outside. I saw my two kids out there. My instincts told me to grab the camera and go out myself. Mr. P & Abigail surveying the yard. Did ya hear that? Mom? What are you doin'? I think I found somthin' here! The Hounds! Mom says that I should rest Always on the alert! My reasons to smile this evening! I am content now, my smile is back. I am happy inside ...

Last Night I completed my Broomstick Bookmark. Yesterday morning I wet my Oak Leaf and blocked it. I am so tickled with myself. I can tat without pulling my hair and going fluster! Look! These are so lovely! I gained knowledge and my confidence soared! I CAN do this!!! YES! I CAN! The class was lead by Riet Surtel-Smeulders.  I was overwhelmed from the day's activities and decided to head on to home. Saturday morning came too soon! Early Bird Class! It has been some time since I last blogged about anything! Many things have happened and soon, I'll blog about some of those things, but as the subject line says! I tatted a Poplar Leaf and finished it! This is my first tatted "Mary Fitch Poplar Leaf" done in DMC Perle Coton, size 8, color 94 (Saturday's Early Bird Special... taught by Karey Soloman On 26-28 of August 2010,  I was privileged to be able to attend The Palmetto Tat Days,  put on by an amazing group of people from The Palmetto Tatters Guild! On Thursday afternoon, I arrived at The Georgia Baptist Conference Center located in Toccoa Georgia. I got to meet the wonderful people early and poke my nose around the place. The location and the building is beautiful. The Center is situated by Lake Louise. Friday morning came early for me! I was so excited to have this day begin! We had a filling breakfast at the Dining Hall. There was time for shopping in the Vender's Room. It contained ...

  This morning I went and did my work out at Curves. The song "Fly Robin Fly" by Silver Convention came on. My mind escaped and smiled. I love that song, sure I have a daughter name Robyn and that would be one of the reason why I love that song. To be fair, the song "Rockin Robin" by Bobby Day has the same affect. Another reason that I love Fly Robin Fly is the simplicity of it and it is mellow!   After the workout, I could not let the song out of my mind and heart. So upon arriving home I got Abigail and my camera. We went visiting our yard. My eyes were gleaming as each beautiful creation caught my attention. Robins! Flowers! Chipmunks! Bushes! Grasses!
